Los Wembler’s De Iquitos “Visión del Ayahuasca” Tour

Pioneers of chicha music, Los Wembler’s formed in 1968 in the Peruvian Amazon city of Iquitos and created songs that came to define a new genre of music that bridged tropical dance music and psychedelic rock. Songs like “Sonido Amazonico” and “Danza del Petrolero” were pretty much unknown to global audiences until 2007, when Brooklyn label Barbès released a formidable, ear-opening compilation titled “The Roots of Chicha.” This is a rare opportunity to catch Los Wembler’s live as they tour behind a new album, “Visión del Ayahuasca.”
