The Velvet Underground Extravaganza

Hat and Beard Press celebrate the release of “The Velvet Underground Experience,” a new book of long lost photos and ephemera surrounding Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground.

The party features live performances by author Ian Svenonius, who is a musician and singer for The Make-Up, Chain and the Gang, Escape-ism; and Musical Tracing Ensemble, an improvised band directed by L.A. Takedown’s Aaron Olson, where the musicians must figure out and play whatever song they hear on headphones. The result is often dissonant but always charming and definitely appropriate in the context of Velvet Underground irreverence.
