Pop singer/songwriter Lykke Li’s inaugural festival, Yola Día, celebrates women with an all-female fronted lineup of supercharged performers, plus food and drinks by female chefs and mixologists from L.A. and Mexico. Not only that, but the great Dolores Huerta is also booked to give a speech. As for music, this day’s fun in the sun features Lykke Li, Cat Power, Courtney Love, SOPHIE, CupcakKe, Megan Thee Stallion, Kelsey Lu and Empress Of.
Yola Día gets its name from Yola Mezcal, a distillery in Oaxaca, Mexico, founded by Li, Gina Correll Aglietti and Yola Jimenez, and operated entirely by women. A portion of ticket sales goes to the Downtown Women’s Center.
