Princess ft. Maya Rudolph & Gretchen Lieberum

Comedian Maya Rudolph and musician Gretchen Lieberum have been quoting lines from “Purple Rain” to each other since college, where they sang in a funk band called Supersauce. Many years later, the friends felt a call from destiny to form a tribute band dedicated to the “Purple One,” and Princess was born.

Prince actually saw the band live and gave Rudolph an approving hug that burned into her soul (in the best way). Although they’ve played many comedy festivals, the band is by no means a parody. The gals sing their hearts out.
