Marty and Elayne have performed jazz standards and quirky originals almost every night at the Los Feliz bar, The Dresden, since 1982. They’re the longest standing live-music act in Los Angeles.

Both sing while Marty alternates between bass and drums, and Elayne plays piano, synth and flute when not scatting in falsetto. Wearing matching outfits adorned with sequins, this inimitable duo has charmed everyone from Julia Roberts — who sang “Makin’ Whoopee” with them one night — to David Lynch, who paid them a compliment. They achieved cult status after appearing in a Tom Petty video and for their performance of “Stayin’ Alive” in the film “Swingers.”

To commemorate reaching their 38th milestone, guest singers and instrumentalists will join Marty and Elayne throughout the night. Arrive early to nab a seat!
